This is a theme that just came to me on a gloomy day. On that day I received the news that one of my favorite bands, godspeed you! black emperor, had decided to never return from their hiatus so I was having quite the sad and memorable day since they've always been, to some level, a great inspiration to me that was 'stranger' than other bands and I often couldn't explain it besides, indeed; an existential freak-out. Nevertheless; I felt a strong urge to just pick up one of my guitars, the choice was the Jazzmaster, and create something .. just out of thin air, no planning, no doubts, no fears, just picking up the guitar and whiffing something up that was connected to that very day. So; the download is about that creation/exploration. It's nothing all too fancy, just a sort of strange jam.
I might also add that the vibe of these explorations are quite different from the way that I want Arafúra to take direction, they're a lot more dark than the stuff I often am comfortable with so I will leave this one out of the MySpace player and leave it to be downloaded for free.

version.01 = just one guitar
version.02 = just one guitar, different settings + different variation on the theme

Whoa; deze plek is o.a. al vrij gestorven. Ik ben benieuwd of ik dit ooit nog op ga pakken, hoogstwaarschijnlijk niet. Zo wel; dan wordt hij friends only.

Vandaag is het een belangrijke dag, of eerder gezegd wordt het een mooie dag. Gelukkig is niet elke dag zo, anders zou dit mannetje nooit meer slapen.

I, for now, will adress this to you - Efrim.

I have a question ..
I'm a 20 year old 'kid' from The Netherlands.
[not that those two facts are actually relevant]

I've been listening to gy!be for some [long] time now and your music [and I speak to you in the collective form of 'you'] has always helped me to portrait my own picturesque-view on life.

Right now;
I'm in a certain collective that is trying to adjust and call/shout to the social healthcare here in Holland.
It's rather seriously polluted/tarnished when you look at it from the side of us 'youngster'. Some [most] of us have a certain 'mental disorder' or multiple versions of them; which can range from Autism to ADHD, Gilles de la Tourette [obsessive compulsive disorder], Schizofrenia, Psychotic episodes, Borderline, to Depression, even [mental] abuse .. and this often leads to a certain crisis in the place of growth [the common ground of 'home'].
Yes;
these matters cán and háve escalated into several serious things.
Some of us have lived on the streets, some of us were cast away by/from their parents, some of us have lived in psychiatric clinics, orphanages, foster families, with close relatives - friends etc.
Most of this was due to the Social Services;
or rather said - the lack of their pressence and counseling.

- We do this by making our own pieces of film, our own texts/quotes/'art'/etc.
It's a program that will help us to equalize the caring for the troubled ones out there.
We are the section for the adolescents, and we are able to influence the DIRECT caring.
We're being fully backed-up here.
And that's all we would ever need.
Yes - indeed;
besides our own common knowledge, past experiences in life, mind, spirit and our .. hope.

My question was .. and still is .. perhaps always will be ..
[since I have no idea if this e-mail adress is even in use anymore - either way; I've now been able to express my grattitude to godspeed this way and to myself in one way or the other] ..

.. I'm in charge of the musical section [amongst many other things] of these several films [it's a 6-7 pieced program] and I was wondering if it would be against the wishings of godspeed if we would be able to make use of your music.

And since I'm in charge;
I have this .. compulsive feel and thrive to make use of godspeed's compelling, climatic, throbbing-vein-in-the-neck, beautifully picturesque-view tunes to escort our movie[s]/project into a serious 'succes'.

I hope you don't mind it if you'd be accompanied with one other artist that does not mind the useage of their music as well;
- Sigur Rós.

The principals of both bands wíll nót be connected to one-another and will not even be mentioned if this is pleased.
